Tea and Time featured in Teatime Magazine!!
I have been collecting Teatime Magazines since the very first issue! This little publication was such an inspiration to me and hit all favorite topics from tea time etiquette, recipes, beautiful images and gorgeous tablescapes! I was and still am, obsessed!
We did a styled shoot several years ago for my wedding planning business. The vision was to focus on a bridal luncheon that brides would host to honor their bridal party. This is typically very feminine and often times referred to as a “tea” luncheon. So I was invited not only to plan this shoot but to also provide the teas and feature the tea experience as well. I was delighted!!!
We had so many cakes and pastries on display this day and we hated to not make good use of all of this hard work so we invited a select group of people to come for a “sip and see”. This is so our guests can sip and taste all the different selections of tea I had brought that day and to ask see our tablescapes and give some inspiration for any future bride wanting to plan a bridal luncheon or tea.
It was a long shot, but we invited Lorna Reeves from Teatime Magazine to join us! Well guess what? She joined us!! I absolutely GUSHED when I got to meet this sweet lady and just raved on and on about how much I adored this magazine and all of Hoffman Media publications! (I think I may have scared her a little bit… LOL)
I left that day feeling so accomplished that we sent the invite, she accepted and I actually got the chance to meet her! My day/year was made! And then covid hit us and we were all locked away in our own private world for a while. Late that year I received an email from Lorna herself asking if I would like to do an interview and have a feature in the magazine!! Are you kidding me??? It was a definite “pinch me” moment and I jump out of my chair with excitement as I screamed YES!! I probably scared her again! LOL
We met at a park outside and sat across from each other on benches that were a safe distance apart so we can stay at a safe distance during a time when we are all in quarantine, and we talked for several hours! It was lovely and I enjoyed every minute of our sweet visit!
The long wait before the magazine came out felt like forever but the day finally came! The May/June 2021 issue of Teatime Magazine hit all the shelves nationwide!! I was beside myself with so much excitement!
I kept this a secret for so long and when I had the magazine in my hand, I sat down next to my Mom and showed her the article. She knew this was my favorite magazine and how much an adore the tea experience. She looked at it and smiled so big! I felt so proud to show her this incredible opportunity I was given, and she was so equally proud of this huge accomplishment. This would be the very last thing my Mom got to see before she passed away 2 months later. For as long as I waited for the magazine to finally be published, it was just in time and God made sure Mom saw this before she left us.
Thank you Hoffman Media and especially Lorna Reeves for reaching out to me that day, and for being interested enough in my passion for tea to feature Tea and Time in your magazine. The timing was so perfect and my Mom was so proud! I will be forever grateful….
